Being Thankful today and everyday

Now that Thanksgiving is over does it mean that my gratitude and gratefulness of what the year has brought is remembered and reflected only on that day? Obviously not, since I am writing this article about gratitude and what I am grateful for.  Practicing gratitude is a daily practice that needs to be done second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, etc.

Around this time of year, we tend to forget what we are grateful for and what we should be grateful for and make plans to celebrate the holidays in a BIG fashion.  Getting the best deals for material goods.  Getting them before the next person.  Getting the BEST material gift for our family: the HOTTEST new clothes, new toy, new kitchen appliances, etc.  We even forget our manners and sense of dignity trying to get the best deals before the next person.  Just read for yourself the numerous examples listed on a website dedicating to list most of the news reports regarding Black Friday injuries and fatal incidents: http://blackfridaydeathcount.com/

How sad it is that we even have such a list.  The holidays are supposed to be about good cheer and we are supposed to be even kinder and grateful to our fellow man.  Extra good not just good for the holidays.

Anyway, back to what I am grateful for.

I am grateful for:

  • the numerous lessons I have learned and continue to learn this year.
  • I have made new friends.
  • Met new clients.
  • Met new mentors.
  • Met new colleagues and other individuals who have supported me and my business, provided me with more educational opportunities, more writing opportunities, more financial opportunities, etc.
  • Grateful for the time I have spent and continue to spend with my children.
  • the stronger bond I have developed with several friends.
  • the stronger bond and commitment I have developed with my love partner.
  • the stronger bond and commitment to myself.
  • the stronger bond with my kids.
  • the understanding from misunderstandings from past events, former colleagues, former relationships.
  • the continual forgiveness to myself for my mistakes.
  • the continual journey to improve myself physically, mentally, spiritually
  • the continual experiences to assist others in their journey.
  • the hunger to continue to learn.
  • the passion to help others.
  • the job that I have.
  • the house that I live in.
  • the food in my refrigerator.
  • my health.
  • my education.
  • my kids.
  • water.
  • clothes on my back.
  • the fact that nude yoga is getting more positive feedback and notoriety YEAH!!!! (READ this article from Yoga Journal: http://www.yogajournal.com/lifestyle/1994)
  • the fact that with more positive feedback more people are becoming interested in Nude Yoga and its benefits which means more clients for NuReveal Yoga
  • the opportunity to help individuals with bodily image issues

I love the fact that I have an opportunity to write things down and have access to the internet, a computer to share my thoughts.  I love the fact that I have the freedom to do so.  I am grateful for my life and everything that has come about even my challenges.  For every challenge, I have received.  It has taught me more and more things about myself.  Always be grateful for what you have.  Don’t be so preoccupied with material things.  They don’t mean as much as the people that are around you.  Live and love your life each day as your last.  You never know when your life force will be asked of you.  Pick and choose your fights; not every one fight needs to be won. Remember sometimes it is better to be happy than to be right.  Thank you, Gabrielle Bernstein for teaching me that.

Mucho Bendiciones.  Blessings to you and seriously go read the article in Yoga Journal: find it right here: http://www.yogajournal.com/lifestyle/1994
